Quick answer
AC fan motor repair covers the condenser fan motor in the outdoor unit and the blower motor in the air handler. Common causes of failure in Miami are heat, worn bearings, failed capacitors and moisture. A technician tests the motor, its capacitor and controls, then replaces the motor with a matched PSC or variable speed unit.

The outdoor condenser fan pulls air through the coil so the refrigerant can release the heat it collected inside. If it stops, the compressor keeps running against rising pressure and overheats, often tripping its safety or damaging itself. The indoor blower pushes air across the evaporator coil and through the ducts. If it stops, the coil freezes and the house gets no air at all.
Fan motors in Miami work long hours in harsh conditions. The condenser fan sits in direct sun and salt air near the coast. The blower sits in a humid closet or a hot attic or garage and runs for most of the day. Bearings wear, windings overheat, and moisture corrodes connections.
Before replacing a motor we test its capacitor, because a weak capacitor can make a healthy motor look dead. On variable speed blowers we also check the control module and the signal from the air handler board, since the fault is sometimes there rather than in the motor itself.
