Quick answer
Air duct cleaning removes dust, debris and biological growth from supply and return ducts, registers, the plenum and the air handler using negative-pressure source-removal equipment and agitation tools. In Miami it is most worthwhile after renovations, pest activity, visible mold, or when the air handler has been running with a poor filter.

Duct cleaning has a reputation problem. Cheap mail coupons promise whole-house cleaning for a price that could not cover a proper job, and the result is a quick vacuum at the registers and an upsell. A real cleaning uses a truck or portable unit that pulls the whole duct system under negative pressure while brushes and air whips knock debris loose from the walls, and it includes the air handler, blower and coil area where the worst buildup usually hides.
We start by looking. A camera inspection of a few supply runs, the return and the plenum shows whether the ducts are carrying a thin film of normal dust or something worth removing. If they are clean enough, we tell you so and you save the money.
When cleaning is needed, you get photos before and after, the blower and coil area cleaned along with the ducts, and advice on filtration so the problem does not come straight back.
