Quick answer
AC coil coating applies a protective, corrosion-resistant layer to a clean condenser coil so salt and moisture cannot attack the aluminum fins and copper tubes as quickly. It is most valuable for homes and condos within a few miles of the coast, and works best on new or newly cleaned coils.

A condenser coil is made of thin aluminum fins on copper or aluminum tubes. Salt in the air settles on the fins, draws in moisture and starts corrosion that turns fins to powder and eventually causes refrigerant leaks.
Coil coating puts a thin flexible barrier over the fins and tubes. Applied correctly, it does not block airflow, and it can add years to a condenser in a coastal location.
We clean the coil thoroughly first, let it dry, then apply the coating evenly by spray. It is most effective on new equipment, but a well-cleaned existing coil in good shape also benefits.
